There are surprisingly only 2 nursing homes located in Evanston, Illinois, providing for a population of 79,009 people. This small group of nursing homes here received a solid city grade of B-. This place's city grade narrowly surpassed the city grade of facilities in the local city of Chicago. While this grade are not that bad, we found Evanston to be a better bet. One of the best aspects of this place's report card is its remarkable inspection reports, which is addressed in the following paragraph.
While its overall grade was not elite, this city's nursing homes performed spectacularly well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Evanston an A- for that category, which is one of our best scores. Inspection scores are based on many datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Evanston also received one of our better grades in the area of short-term care, with a B. In the other categories we looked at, Evanston earned middle of the road grades in our nursing and long-term care areas.
