There are four facilities in Avon, Indiana, so at least you have a few options to choose from. These nursing homes didn't really stand out from a quality perspective either. The city was awarded a city grade of C, which is not one of our stronger scores at the city level. We also looked at the facilities in the nearby city of Martinsville, which received a city grade of F. While we gave both cites weak grades, we found the nursing homes in Avon to be a better bet. The best part of this city's report card was its nursing homes' remarkable inspection reports. We discuss inspections in the next section.
While its overall grade was somewhat average, this city performed spectacularly well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded the city an A- for that category, which is one of our highest scores. Our inspection grades account for several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better scores in this category usually have very few severe deficiencies. Avon received its next best score in the area of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of B-, which also isn't too bad. Lastly, Avon earned rock bottom grades in our nursing and long-term care areas respectively.
