With 35 nursing homes in the city, Miami, Florida has more nursing homes to choose from than the vast majority of cities in Florida. This city's nursing homes received an excellent city grade of A-. This is an accomplishment for any city, but it is especially impressive when you consider the number of nursing homes in the city. This is a well above average grade with the vast majority of places receiving a B or lower. Lastly, this city's category grades were just as impressive as its overall city grade. As mentioned above, this city's nursing homes received a great overall grade, but we also wanted to point out that some of its nursing homes received nearly flawless health inspections the past few years. We awarded Miami an impressive grade of A in this category. Arguably the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this area most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. In addition, the city also really excelled in the category of long-term care, where we gave it a grade of A-. Wrapping up its strong report card, this place were awarded a grade of B+ in our nursing category and a B+ in the area of short-term care. Miami really did not have any weak links as far as we could tell.
