To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with higher scores in this category typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. We weren't able to locate deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

In addition, this nursing home also was given favorable short-term care scores in our assessment. In fact, we awarded it one of our higher grades in that category, with a grade of B+. In our short-term care grade, we strive to forge a meaningful measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze a facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Remarkably, this nursing home provides roughly one and a half times as many hours of services from registered nurses and physical therapists than most nursing homes we looked at. Finally, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

This facility is also above average in the area of long-term care, where it was given a score of B+. It performed more favorably than most facilities in this area. Facilities that do well in this category typically provide residents with closer supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. One of the criteria we considered after nursing hours is vaccinations. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 96.55172 percent of its residents. This is a great way to avoid negative health outcomes for the elderly population. This place also keeps its patients out of the hospital. While it had 1.98 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, its risk adjusted metric was better than most nursing homes due to it having more complicated patients.

Switching gears to the last area, this facility was awarded a highly favorable nursing grade. Although this is not quite as impressive as some of its other scores, this is still one of our more favorable scores we offer. When calculating our nursing scores, we look at both staffing levels and the skill levels of the nurses. This facility provided 4.6 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is among the highest figures in the country. A significant portion of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. We were very impressed by both of these figures. In addition to offering impressive levels of care, this place also performed well in many of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In terms of the percentage of its residents sustaining falls which lead to major injury, this place performed better than the national average.
