Facility Inspections
In addition to performing well overall, this facility also earned nearly flawless government inspections. Therefore, it received one of our best grades in that area with a grade of A+. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. It does not appear that we have deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also received an A+ for its long-term care score. Nursing homes that excel in long-term care tend to provide residents with better supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. On top of offering elite levels of nursing care and other staffing, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 100 percent of its patients. This percentage is also much higher than the average nursing home. The last statistic we looked at was the nursing home's hospitalization rate. We found that this nursing home had 2.5 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on our next category, we gave this nursing home a score of A- for its short-term care grade. This is a very impressive score. In forming these short-term care scores, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our goal is to create a barometer for comparing the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. One of this nursing home's strength is that it offers more hours of physical therapy per week to its residents. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that it outperformed the vast majority of facilities in the nation in this area with 63.1 percent of its patients returning home.
Nurse Quality
In the last category, we awarded this nursing home a A+ for its nursing score. This topped off a first-rate profile. The nursing score is based on quite a few components, however, the primary one is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. With 4.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day, this place surpassed the vast majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this nursing home was also above average in each of the major quality measures we looked at in this category. It performed well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
