With three nursing homes in the city, you only have a few choices in Medford, Massachusetts. These facilities earned on average an overall grade of C. This isn't a terrible grade, but it is not as high of a score as we like to see either. This score unfortunately ended up on the wrong side of the national average. One of the better aspects of this place's report card is its nursing homes' impressive nursing scores, which we will address in the following section.
We wanted to note that this city's nursing score was superior to its overall grade. In fact, we awarded Medford a B in this category, which is one of our better scores. We assessed the levels of nurses at the nursing home, as well as the number of hours the nurses worked with residents, in calculating our rating in this category. Inspections appears to be this city's next best feature. We gave it a B- in this area. In the last two categories, Medford earned a B- in our short-term care category and a grade of D in inspections. Despite an otherwise strong profile, we find an inspections score this poor to be concerning.
