Nurse Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. The nursing grade assesses several datapoints, but the paramount one is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home also received a virtually flawless inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our highest grades in that area with an A+. This is one of the few nursing homes to receive multiple A+'s. Inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality
Turning the page to our next area, we gave this facility a score of A- for its short-term care score. This is a first-rate score. Our short-term care grades are considered to be more critical for folks requiring a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates additional skilled nursing services. This includes not only nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final measure we considered in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that 4.8 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The fourth area we graded was long-term care, where this facility was given a grade of A-. This completed a first-rate report card. Few nursing homes earned an A- or higher in each of our categories. In a long-term care environment, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. One of the data points we considered after nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 88.2353 percent of its residents. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
