There are two facilities in Melrose Park, Illinois, so at least you have a few choices. We awarded the nursing homes here a superb city grade of A. Even with just a couple of nursing homes, this is still quite an achievement. We found this city grade was considerably better than the city grade of B received by the nearby city of Glenview. Both cities have some quality nursing homes, but Melrose Park appears to be in a totally different league. Lastly, Melrose Park also has the distinction of being one of the 250 best cities in the nation.
As mentioned above, this city received a great overall grade, but we also wanted to point out that some of the city's facilities received nearly perfect health inspections the past few years. We awarded Melrose Park an impressive grade of A+ in this category. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection ratings. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are relatively minor. In addition, the city also performed remarkably well in the area of short-term care, where it received an A for this area. Wrapping up its excellent report card, this place received grades of A- and B+ for our long-term care and nursing categories respectively.
