With two nursing homes in the city, there are only a couple of options in Mountainside, New Jersey. We gave the nursing homes in this city an excellent city grade of A-. Even with just a couple of facilities, this is still a great achievement. We also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Union, which received a city grade of B-. While there's nothing wrong with the nursing homes in Union, we found Mountainside to be in a totally different league. Lastly, this city's category grades were just as strong as its city grade. You can learn more about these in the next paragraph.
As mentioned above, this city's nursing homes received a strong overall grade, but we especially wanted to emphasize that some of the city's facilities received nearly perfect health inspections the past few years. We awarded Mountainside an elite grade of A+ in this area. These inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. We also awarded Mountainside an A- in our long-term care rating. Rounding out its quality report card, we gave the city strong scores for our short-term care and nursing categories as well.
