Facility Inspections
In addition to being a strong facility overall, it also earned A+ inspections recently. Its inspections were virtually perfect. Inspection grades account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher grades in this area usually have very few of these severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, we weren't able to locate deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home also received an A+ for its long-term care score. Facilities that do well in this category tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to patients. One of the factors we considered in addition to nursing hours was vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 100 percent of its residents. Vaccination is a reliable method to avoid unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations for the nursing home population. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

This area is often a fair assessment of the nursing home's ability to rehabilitate patients. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we considered in this category is the number of residents who eventually returned home from the nursing home.
