There are five nursing homes in Sterling Heights, Michigan, so at least you have a few choices. These nursing homes did not really excel from a quality perspective either. The city received a city grade of C, which is not one of our stronger grades at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Roseville, which received a city grade of F. While we not raving about either city, we found the nursing homes in Sterling Heights to be a bit better. One of the highlights of this city's profile is its nursing homes' strong short-term care grades, which we will address in the next paragraph.
While this city received a decent overall grade, its short-term care rating is more impressive than its overall grade. Sterling Heights received one of our higher grades in this category with a B. Our short-term care scores are important for prospective residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing services. This means a wide spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Inspections appears to be Sterling Heights's second best feature. The city earned a C in this category. In the other categories we looked at, Sterling Heights earned a C in our nursing category and a grade of D in long-term care. Despite an otherwise respectable performance, this place's weak long-term care rating could be a problem for many people.
