There are three facilities in Sun City Center, Florida, which at least gives you a few options. We awarded the nursing homes here an excellent city grade of A-. Even with only a couple of nursing homes, this is still a great achievement. We also assessed the nursing homes in the nearby city of Bradenton, which received a city grade of B+. As good as the nursing homes are in Bradenton, we found Sun City Center to be even better. We were so impressed with Sun City Center that we ranked it as one of the 250 best cities in the nation.
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, many of the facilities in Sun City Center performed spectacularly well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded its facilities an A+ for this category, which is one of our highest scores. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection grades. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these can be relatively insignificant. In addition, Sun City Center also performed extremely well in the area of long-term care, where it received an A- for this area. Wrapping up its impressive profile, Sun City Center received favorable grades for our short-term care and nursing areas as well.
