With a population of 89,747 , Westminster, California is a moderately populated city. Surprisingly, there are only 3 nursing homes there, which is fewer than we expected in a city of this size. We gave the nursing homes here a very good city grade of B+. Even with only a few facilities, this is still a high quality city grade. We also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Long Beach, which received a city grade of B-. While there's nothing wrong with the nursing homes in Long Beach, we found Westminster to be on a whole other level. Fortunately, this place did not have any bad scores in any of the four major categories. Additional information about these categories is available in the next paragraph.
On top of having quality nursing homes overall, this city really excelled in the category of inspections, where we gave it an A. Not many cities earned a better grade in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some of these can be relatively insignificant. The city also really excelled in the category of long-term care, where we gave it an A-. Wrapping up its impressive report card, Westminster received a B+ for its nursing score and a B for short-term care. This place really didn't have any weak links as far as we could tell.
