With 47,807 people, Sun Valley, California is a small city. There are only 2 nursing homes there, which does not provide you with too many choices. These facilities did not really stand out from a quality point of view either. The city was given a city grade of C, which is not one of our stronger scores at the city level. As bad as this grade is, we surprisingly found gave the nearby city of Winnetka an even worse grade. With Winnetka receiving such a terrible grade, we would advise you to tread carefully in either city. The best part of this place's report card is is its inspection grade. Inspection grades are discussed in the following section.
This city's most impressive category grade came in the area of government inspections. In that category, we gave Sun Valley a B+. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Nursing homes with better grades in this area typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. In addition, the city earned a B for our nursing category. In our final two categories, the city received slightly below average grades for our short-term care and long-term care areas.
