While its overall score was not elite, this city performed extremely well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Rockville Centre an A+ for that category, which is one of our best scores. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection scores. One critical factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite minor. The second best grade we gave this place in any category was its long-term care grade, where it earned a C. In the other categories we looked at, this place earned a C for short-term care and a grade of F in the area of nursing. Even with an otherwise decent profile, a nursing grade this poor may be an ominous sign for levels of nurse staffing.
