Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, this nursing home also received an A+ inspection rating. This grade is based on the facility's recent inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the best complements we can pay to a nursing home. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better grades in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This nursing home was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of these deficiencies an immediate risk to resident safety or health. We should note that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in this industry.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

We also want to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home received a first-rate grade of A- in our long-term care category. In a long-term care setting, the primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 92.268906 percent of its residents, which is a few points less than we anticipated. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.04 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home also received a strong nursing score. In fact, we awarded it an above average grade of B in this area. Our nursing category assesses many subcategories, most of which are tied to nursing hours. This particular nursing home provided 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Moving on to the last area, this nursing home was given a high-end short-term care rating. Even though this isn't quite as good as a few of its other category grades, this remains one of the stronger grades a facility can receive. In our short-term care category, we strive to forge a sound gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients that eventually returned home from this nursing home. We found that 4.4 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
