Brookfield, Wisconsin is a small city with 41,111 people. It features just one nursing home, which is not the selection we were hoping for. Fortunately,, this city's only nursing home received a top-notch grade of A-, so at least there is one quality option. We also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Watertown. We found the nursing home in Brookfield to be in a totally different league than most of the facilities in Watertown. We were so impressed with Brookfield that we rated it as one of the top 250 cities in the entire country.
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this city's lone nursing home an A+ for our inspections rating. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher scores in this category most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. This place also performed remarkably well in our short-term care category, where it earned an A. Wrapping up its excellent report card, this place were awarded an A- for its long-term care grade and a B in the area of nursing.
