Nurse Quality
B-
Historical
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of B- for our nursing rating. Our nursing score analyzes several subcategories, many of which are tied to levels of nurse staffing. Based on the CMS data, this nursing home offers 3.7 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in some quality-focused statistics. Specifically, we look at the percent of residents who sustained pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these areas as good measures of the quality of nursing care, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
Short-term Care Quality
C
Historical
This nursing home also didn't grade out too badly in the area of short-term care. Indeed, we awarded it a C for that area, which ended up being among its more respectable grades. With our short-term care rating, we seek to create a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. This facility provided more physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. This is what we like to find when assessing a nursing home in this category. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 30.1 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this is below average.

Facility Inspections
F
Historical
We wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's inspection grade where it received an F. This usually means we found some red flags on its government inspections. When a nursing home has this poor of an inspection rating, you should expect some severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to the well being of residents. This facility was hit with 6 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they created a threat to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Long-term Care Quality
F
Historical
The final category we looked at was long-term care, where this facility was given an abysmal grade in this area also. It received an F for this area, which is obviously a major concern. Nursing homes that don't score well in long-term care often do not provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in some of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. One of the data points we considered in addition to nursing hours is vaccinations. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to a relatively low 56 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this facility was not as bad as we expected at keeping its patients out of the hospital. While it had 3.68 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, its risk adjusted score was not bad since it had more complicated patients.
