With just three nursing homes in the city, there are only a few options in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. While it only has a couple of nursing homes, this city received an excellent city grade of A-. We were so impressed with Fort Thomas that we ranked it as one of the 500 best cities in the country. This is impressive considering we assessed thousands of cities around the nation. In addition to performing well in its overall grade, most of the nursing homes in Fort Thomas performed spectacularly well in terms of its inspection grade. In fact, some of its facilities received almost flawless inspection reports this year. Consequently, we awarded Fort Thomas one of our highest grades in that category with an A. Inspection grades are based on many pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this category typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. In addition, Fort Thomas performed especially well in terms of its long-term care grade as well. Consequently, we gave it a grade of A- in this area. Rounding out its quality profile, the city were awarded a grade of B+ for its nursing score and a B+ in short-term care. This city really didn't have any weak links based on our assessment.
