There are four facilities in Erlanger, Kentucky, so at least you have a few options to choose from. Despite only having a couple of nursing homes, this city's nursing homes received an excellent city grade of B+. We found this city grade to be considerably better than the city grade of D received by the nearby city of Middletown. If you happen to be choosing between these cities, Erlanger appears to be the likely winner. The best part of Erlanger's strong report card is its nursing homes' inspection ratings. Inspection grades are discussed in the next paragraph
In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this city performed spectacularly well in the category of inspections. In fact, some of the nursing homes in the city received virtually flawless inspection reports this year. As a result, the city received one of our highest ratings in that area with an A+. Inspection grades weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher grades in this area typically have few of these severe deficiencies. In addition, we also awarded Erlanger an A in our long-term care rating. Finally, we awarded the city a B- for its short-term care grade and a B- in nursing.
