In addition to being a top notch nursing home overall, it also performed well in inspections, where it earned a grade of A. Not many nursing homes performed better in this category. Our inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher grades in this category usually have few of these severe deficiencies. This place was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to be an immediate threat to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Adding to its dominant resume, this facility also excelled in our long-term care category. In fact, we gave it a score of A in the category. Long-term care scores in this range generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 94.7619 percent of its residents, which is higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.04 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

The next area we analyzed was short-term care. Adding to its top-shelf resume, this facility also performed well in this area. In fact, we awarded it a grade of of A- in that area. Our short-term care grade is generally employed to judge a facility's performance with rehabilitation To provide highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must have higher levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other types of therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final item we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that 5 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.

Turning to the fourth area, this nursing home received a high-end nursing rating. While this wasn't as dominant as many of its other grades, this is nevertheless one of the better scores we offer.
