With a population of 24,727 people, Newport, Rhode Island is a relatively small city. There are only 3 nursing homes there, which doesn't provide you with too many choices. While this place didn't have a ton of nursing homes, this city's nursing homes received a very good city grade of B+. We also wanted to point out that this city's city grade even surpassed the city grade of facilities in the local city of Woonsocket. Lastly, this city has the distinction of being one of the top ten rated cities in all of Rhode Island.
In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this city performed remarkably well in terms of its nursing grade. We awarded Newport one of our best grades in that area with a grade of A-. With a nursing rating this high we would expect many of the facilities in Newport to have high levels of nurse staffing. The city also received strong inspection rating where it earned a B+ in this category. Wrapping up its impressive report card, this place received a B+ for its short-term care score and a B in long-term care. We truly found Newport to be competent in every category.
