Westfield, Indiana offers only three nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. We awarded this small group of nursing homes a city grade of B-, which is a respectable grade. By way of comparison, we gave the nursing homes in the local city of Marion a city grade of D, which is a very poor score. While neither city received a glowing review, we found the nursing homes in Westfield to be a better bet. One of the best aspects of this city's profile is its remarkable inspection rating, which is addressed in the following section.
Despite receiving a fairly ordinary overall grade, the nursing homes in Westfield performed remarkably well in the area of inspections. In fact, some of its facilities received virtually perfect inspection reports this year. As a result, Westfield received one of our highest ratings in that category with an A. Inspection ratings are tied to datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. In addition, Westfield also fared well in the category of government short-term care with a B. Finally, we gave the city grades of B- and F for our nursing and long-term care areas respectively. Even with otherwise respectable category grades, this place's poor long-term care rating could be an issue for many people.
