Mckeesport, Pennsylvania offers just two nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. The nursing homes here received a strong city grade of B+. Even with just a couple of nursing homes, this is still a great sign. By way of comparison, we gave the facilities in the nearby city of Johnstown a city grade of C, which is much lower score. Clearly, we found the nursing homes in Mckeesport to be on a whole other level than the ones in Johnstown. This city's nursing homes are better in some categories than others, but it didn't have any poor grades in any of our major areas discussed below. In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed spectacularly well in the category of inspections. In fact, some of its facilities received nearly perfect inspection reports this year. Consequently, it received one of our highest ratings in that category with an A+. Inspection scores are tied to several pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. We also wanted to point out that we gave Mckeesport an A- in our nursing rating. In the last two categories, this place were awarded a B for its long-term care score and a grade of B- in the area of short-term care.
