Neptune, New Jersey is a relatively small city with 37,554 people. It has 6 nursing homes, which is a decent selection for a city of this size. Impressively, the nursing homes here received a top-notch city grade of A-. We found this city grade was even better than the city grade of B+ received by the nearby city of Brick. Both cities received impressive grades, but Neptune appears to be an even better bet. The best aspect of Neptune's strong profile was its nursing homes' inspection ratings. On top of having quality nursing homes overall, this place really excelled in the category of inspections, where we gave it an A. Few cities fared this well in this category. Our inspection ratings are based on many datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that receive favorable grades in this area typically have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. The city also performed spectacularly well in our long-term care category, where we gave it an A for that category.
