Our data for Fairfield, Connecticut is based on just one nursing home we found there. We were relieved to discover that its only nursing home received a very good overall grade of B+. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Bridgeport. We found the nursing home in Fairfield to be a better bet than most of the nursing homes in Bridgeport. This facility's strong report card was highlighted by its inspection reports, which we will address in the next paragraph.
In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this city's only nursing home performed remarkably well in the area of inspections. In fact, it received a nearly perfect inspection report this year. As a result, we awarded it one of our best grades in that category with an A-. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this area typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This place also performed extremely well in the area of short-term care. In fact, it earned a grade of A-. Rounding out its report card, we awarded the city strong grades for our nursing and long-term care categories as well.
