On top of being an elite facility overall, this facility also excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an A+. Very few facilities fared this well in this area. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

This grade is considered to be a useful assessment of the facility's rehabilitation. This nursing home provides more services with physical therapists and registered nurses than most nursing homes we looked at. This is usually a favorable sign. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients that returned home from the facility. We found that it fared as well as just about any facility in Connecticut in this area with 61.4 percent of its residents returning home. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 94.475136 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents out of the hospital. This place also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 1.04 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a significantly lower hospitalization rate than most nursing homes.
