With 44,837 people, Patchogue, New York is a relatively small city. There are only 2 nursing homes in the city, which does not offer you too many options to choose from. Despite not having a ton of nursing homes, this city received a first-rate city grade of A-. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the facilities in the nearby city of Brentwood, which received a city grade of B+. As impressed as we were with the nursing homes in Brentwood, we found Patchogue to be rated even higher. We were so impressed with this city that we rated it as one of the 500 best cities in the United States.
In addition to having quality nursing homes on the whole, this city's nursing homes really excelled in the category of inspections, where we gave it an A+. Very few cities earned a better grade in this area. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Places with higher scores in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. We also wanted to point out that we awarded the city a grade of A- for our short-term care category. Wrapping up its top notch profile, the city were awarded an A- for long-term care and a B in the area of nursing.
