There are just 2 nursing homes located in Milford, Michigan, servicing a relatively small population of 20,009 people. This city received a city grade of C based on its overall nursing home quality. This is not a great city grade. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Farmington, which received a city grade of D. While we aren't raving about either city, we found the nursing homes in Milford to be slightly better. The best part of this city's profile was is its short-term care score. We discuss short-term care in the next paragraph.
This city's most impressive category grade came in short-term care. In this category, we gave the city a B. In computing our short-term care scores, we assess the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The goal is to formulate a scale for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. In addition, the city also received an impressive nursing rating where it received a B in this area. In the last two categories, we gave Milford grades of B- and D for our inspections and long-term care areas respectively. Clearly, this city's long-term care grade really dragged down its overall grade.
