Despite receiving a terrible overall grade, this city performed well in our inspections category. In fact, many of its nursing homes received relatively impressive inspection reports this year. Consequently, Gonzales received one of our better scores in that area with a B+. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection grades. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite insignificant. Surprisingly, Gonzales performed respectably in our long-term care category as well, where it received a B- for that category. Finally, the city earned rock bottom grades for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively.
