Facility Inspections

Grade: A

While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a very impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that category with a grade of A. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This means that CMS did not consider any of these deficiencies to be an imminent risk to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

We also want to note that this facility received an F for its short-term care score. With our short-term care category, we seek to craft a meaningful gauge for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a facility's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. With a score in this range for this area, we were not stunned to find that this nursing home was below average in two of the key staffing areas we looked at. It supplied substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. The final metric we considered in this area is the number of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 0 percent of its patients returning home. This was well below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The third area we graded was long-term care. This nursing home's was given an abysmal long-term care grade where it was given a lowly F. For residents in need of a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care grades are very important. Once we looked at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 98.68852 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. To our surprise, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.

Nurse Quality

The last category we graded is nursing. This nursing home was given a poor grade of F in this category. There are numerous criteria within this area. Many of these subcategories relate to the quantity of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing ratings.
