Ocoee, Florida offers only three nursing homes to choose from, which is a limited selection. We awarded the nursing homes here a very good city grade of B+. Even with just a few nursing homes, this is still an impressive city grade. We also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Sanford, which which also appears to be a decent option. Nevertheless, we found the nursing homes in Ocoee to be in a totally different league than the ones in Sanford. We were also pleased to find that this city did not have any bad scores in any of the four major categories. Additional information about these categories can be found in the next paragraph.
This city received a great overall grade, but we also wanted to emphasize that some of the city's nursing homes received virtually perfect health inspections the past few years. We gave Ocoee an elite grade of A in this category. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this category typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. Ocoee also performed extremely well in the area of long-term care, where it received an A- for that category. Rounding out its impressive report card, this place earned a B for its nursing score and a B in the area of short-term care. We really found Ocoee to be strong everywhere we looked.
