With a population of 50,269 people, Longwood, Florida is a relatively small city. There are only 3 nursing homes there, which doesn't provide you with too many options to choose from. We gave the nursing homes here a superb city grade of A-. Even with just a few nursing homes, this is still quite an achievement. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the facilities in the nearby city of Deltona, which received a city grade of F. We found Longwood to be in a totally different league. Lastly, this city's category grades were every bit as impressive as its overall city grade. You can find more information about these in the next paragraph.
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed remarkably well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Longwood an A for that category, which is one of our highest scores. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. We also wanted to emphasize that we gave the city a grade of A- for our short-term care category. Wrapping up its impressive report card, we gave the city a grade of B+ for long-term care and a B+ for nursing. We really found this place to be strong in each category we assessed.
