Facility Inspections
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This indicates that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to be an imminent risk to patient safety or health. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

This nursing home truly excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received a grade of A. Very few facilities performed better in this area. In calculating our short-term care scores, we analyze a facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This rating is frequently a useful measure of a facility's rehabilitation. This place provided more registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most facilities. This is what we like to find when assessing a nursing home in this category. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that it outperformed the vast majority of facilities with 60 percent of its residents returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility is also above average in the area of long-term care, where it was awarded a grade of B. It performed more favorably than most nursing homes in this area. Nursing homes that excel in long-term care tend to be well-staffed and offer extensive hands on care to patients. In addition to considering the elite level of care provided by aids and other staff at this nursing home, we also were impressed by the facility's vaccination statistics. By way of example, this nursing home gave the pneumonia vaccine to 97.73463 percent of its residents, which is what we like to see. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.64 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the average nursing home.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to the last category, this facility was awarded a respectable nursing grade. While this wasn't as elite as several of its other scores, this is truly not the end of the world. When computing our nursing ratings, we look at both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home offers extremely high levels of nursing care, averaging 4.2 hours per resident per day. This is well above average. Lastly, we factored a few quality measures into our nursing ratings. This place was relatively weak in two of the areas we considered, with below average scores for minimizing its patients' major falls and pressure ulcers.
