With four nursing homes in the city, there are only a couple of choices in Round Rock, Texas. The small group of nursing homes in this city received a city grade of C, which is not a strong grade at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the facilities in the nearby city of Pflugerville. While we aren't raving about either city, we found the facilities in Round Rock to be slightly better. The best part of this city's report card was its nursing homes' remarkable inspection grades. Inspection grades are discussed in the following section.
This city's nursing homes received a fairly ordinary overall grade, however, we really want to point out that some of its facilities almost perfect health inspections the past few years. We awarded them an elite grade of A in this area. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this area typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. Round Rock's next highest score was in our short-term care category, where it earned a C. In our final two categories, we awarded the city grades of C and D for our long-term care and nursing categories respectively. While we found most of its grades to be decent, this nursing grade is not a good sign for nursing staffing levels.
