Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received an impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it earned one of our best scores in that category with an A. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. It is generally best to avoid facilities that have a long list of deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this facility's next best category is long-term care. Nevertheless, with a grade of D in this category, it still fared relatively badly. For long-term care residents, the facility's primary objective is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home provided the vaccine to 99.67742 percent of its patients, which is an above average datapoint. To our surprise, this nursing home also keeps its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.

Short-term Care Quality
Tragically, we gave this facility an F for its short-term care score. Our short-term care scores are important for prospective residents requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a broad range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Based on its weak grade in this category, we weren't shocked to find this facility provided substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most facilities. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents that eventually returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.8 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to our next area, this nursing home really did not fare well in this category either. With a rock bottom grade of F in nursing, this is just about as bad as it gets. The nursing grade is based on many data points, many of which are tied to levels of nurse staffing. With only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day, this nursing home's nurse staffing levels were significantly below average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This place fared well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
