Carlisle, Pennsylvania has eight nursing homes to choose from, which isn't a bad selection. With a city grade of B-, this city should have some decent nursing homes. We also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Camp Hill, which received a city grade of D. While we not writing glowing reviews about either city, we found the nursing homes in Carlisle to be slightly better. One of the better aspects of this city's report card is its nursing homes' strong inspection reports, which we will address in the next paragraph.
While the nursing homes in Carlisle received a decent overall grade, its inspection grade is more impressive than its overall grade. Due to some of its nursing homes receiving favorable inspection reports this year, we gave Carlisle one of our higher grades in that category with a grade of B+. Inspection scores are tied to many pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area typically have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Carlisle's next highest grade came in nursing, where Carlisle received a B-. Finally, the city received a B- for long-term care and a B- in short-term care.
