Leawood, Kansas is an average size city with 33,530 people. The city features only 2 nursing homes, which doesn't provide you with too many options to choose from. The nursing homes here received an excellent city grade of A-. Even with just a few nursing homes, this is still quite an achievement. In fact, this city's city grade far surpassed the city grade of facilities in the local city of Liberty. While the nursing homes in Liberty are not that bad, we found Leawood to be on a whole other level. The best aspect of Leawood's strong report card is its nursing homes' inspection grades. Inspection grades are discussed in the next section
This city received a strong overall grade, but we especially wanted to point out that some of the city's nursing homes received virtually flawless health inspections the past few years. We gave Leawood an impressive grade of A- for this area. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this category typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. The city also really excelled in the category of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of A-. Rounding out its top notch report card, the city earned grades of A- and B for our nursing and long-term care categories respectively.
