Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a strong nursing home overall, this nursing home also excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received an elite grade of A+. In computing our short-term care grades, we assess a facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other types of therapists. This area is frequently a meaningful assessment of the nursing home's rehabilitation. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last item we considered in this category is the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 7.3 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Adding to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Racking up yet another strong category grade, this nursing home also excelled in inspections, where it earned an impressive grade of A. Few nursing homes fared better in this category. Our inspection grades are based on several pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this category typically have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in the industry.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The final category we looked at was long-term care, where this facility received a grade of C. Although this turned out to be its poorest category grade, this is nevertheless not a major area of concern. For long-term care residents, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Candidly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home gave the vaccine to just 88.15789 percent of its residents. Nevertheless, this facility excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
