With a population of 19,491 people, Debary, Florida is a relatively small city. There are just 2 nursing homes in the city, which does not provide you with too many options to choose from. The nursing homes here received a phenomenal city grade of A-. Even with just a couple of facilities, this is still quite an accomplishment. By way of comparison, we gave the nursing homes in the nearby city of Deltona a city grade of D, which is a far below average grade. Naturally, we found the nursing homes in Debary to be in a totally different league than the ones in Deltona. This city's impressive report card was highlighted by its nursing homes' inspection reports, which we will address in the next paragraph.
To pair with its great overall grade, we awarded this city a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. Debary performed spectacularly well in terms of its long-term care grade as well. As a result, the city received an A- in this category. Rounding out its report card, this place earned grades of A- and B- for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively. Outside of its nursing score, this place's other three categories were just about as good as it gets.
