With 35,421 people, Clinton, Maryland is a small city. There are only 3 nursing homes there, which doesn't give you too many options. These facilities did not really stand out from a quality perspective either. The city received a city grade of C, which is not one of our better scores at the city level. This city is a slightly better option than the nearby city of District Heights, which received a city grade of D. Frankly, neither city comes highly recommended. The best part of this place's report card is is its inspection grade. Inspection grades are discussed in the next section.
While this city's nursing homes received a decent overall grade, its inspection grade is higher than its overall grade. Due to some of its facilities receiving strong inspection reports this year, we gave Clinton one of our better grades in this category with a B. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher scores in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Inspections is Clinton's next best feature. We awarded it a C in this category. In the last two categories, we awarded the city a C for its nursing grade and a C in the area of short-term care.
