There are only 2 nursing homes located in Mount Dora, Florida, providing for a population of 23,746 people. The nursing homes in this city received a phenomenal city grade of A-. Even with only a few facilities, this is still quite an achievement. We were so impressed with this city that we ranked it as one of the top 500 cities in the entire country. This is impressive since we ranked thousands of cities around the nation. The best aspect of Mount Dora's impressive profile was its nursing homes' inspection ratings. Inspection grades are discussed in the next section
This city received a great overall grade, but we especially wanted to emphasize that some of the city's facilities received nearly perfect health inspections the past few years. We awarded Mount Dora an impressive grade of A+ for this area. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. We also wanted to point out that we awarded the city a grade of A- in our long-term care rating. Rounding out its impressive profile, Mount Dora received a B for its nursing score and a B in the area of short-term care. We found this city to be strong in each category we assessed.
