We assessed the only nursing home in San Marcos, California. Unfortunately, this nursing home did not fare well in our assessment. We gave it a grade of D, which is a terrible grade. This grade is about as bad as it gets and it raises some major red flags. We don't have many positive things to say about this nursing home, but it did receive a surprisingly strong short-term care grade. You can scroll down to find out about this.
Despite receiving a terrible overall grade, this city's nursing home performed favorably in the area of short-term care. In fact, it received one of our higher grades in that category with a grade of B. Short-term care ratings are important for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a vast range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. This city's inspection rating is its second best feature. It received a C in that area. In the other categories we looked at, we gave San Marcos grades of C and F for our nursing and long-term care areas respectively. In spite of an otherwise respectable performance, this place's poor long-term care grade may be a concern for many prospective residents.
