Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a first rate nursing home overall, this nursing home excelled in our inspections category, where it earned an A+. Very few nursing homes fared this well in this area. Our inspection scores are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this category typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-plus

This nursing home also received an A+ nursing grade, making it one of the few nursing homes to receive multiple A+ category grades. Our nursing score is primarily based on a facility's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also gave this facility a grade of of A+ for its short-term care grade. In our short-term care grade, we endeavor to forge a meaningful measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we assess a nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last statistic we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We found that 6.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In the final category we graded, this facility was awarded a very strong grade of A in our long-term care category. With this score, the nursing home topped off a straight A report card. For prospective patients looking for a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. Once we assessed the volume of nursing care, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 86.46616 percent of its residents for pneumonia. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
