There are two nursing homes in Alvin, Texas, which at least gives you a few choices. These nursing homes didn't really excel from a quality perspective either. The city received a city grade of C, which is not one of our stronger grades at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of La Porte. While we aren't writing glowing reviews about either city, we found the facilities in Alvin to be a better bet. The best part of this city's report card is its nursing homes' exemplary inspection reports. Inspection grades are discussed in the following section.

This city's nursing homes received a fairly ordinary overall grade, but we really would like to emphasize that some of the nursing homes in the city nearly perfect health inspections in recent years. We gave it an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Our inspection scores are tied to many datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area tend to have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. In addition, the city earned a B for our long-term care category. Finally, this place earned grades of C and F for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively. Even with an otherwise decent profile, a nursing score of this caliber may be a bad sign for nursing staffing levels.
