This city's nursing homes surprisingly received a strong grade in the area of inspections for instance.
Despite receiving an abysmal overall grade, this city's nursing homes performed much better in our inspections category. In fact, many of its nursing homes received strong government inspection reports this year. Consequently, Mishawaka received one of our higher ratings in that area with a B+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection ratings. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are quite insignificant. We also wanted to acknowledge that we gave the city a grade of B- in short-term care. In our final two categories, we awarded the city alarmingly low grades in our nursing and long-term care areas respectively.
