Connellys Springs, North Carolina has just two nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. We gave this small group of nursing homes a city grade of B-, which is a respectable grade. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Morganton. We found the facilities in Connellys Springs to be a bit better. The best part of this city's profile was its nursing homes' exemplary inspection scores. Inspection reports are discussed in the next paragraph.
Despite receiving a fairly ordinary overall grade, this city performed extremely well in our inspections category. In fact, some of the nursing homes in the city received almost flawless inspection reports this year. Consequently, Connellys Springs received one of our highest ratings in that category with a grade of A+. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this area typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. In addition, Connellys Springs also received one of our better grades in our long-term care category, with a B. Wrapping up its profile, the city received grades of B and D for our short-term care and nursing areas respectively. In spite of an otherwise strong profile, a nursing score this poor may be an ominous sign for levels of nurse staffing.
