Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of B- in that category. Our nursing score consists of many factors, many of which are based on nursing hours. This facility averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is well below average. Finally, although this nursing home got docked a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it excelled in some of our quality-based measures. With less than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it fared well in this area.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the area of short-term care, this facility was awarded just a D in that category. Sadly, this wound up being its second best grade. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to qualify indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Based on its poor rating in this category, we weren't surprised to discover that this place offers substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most other nursing homes. The last statistic we considered in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar metrics sunk this nursing home's short-term care score.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's inspection grades where it received an F. This generally means we found some red flags on the inspection reports. For facilities with poor inspection scores, you should really scrutinize any severe deficiencies found on their inspection reports. This particular facility was assessed 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we found is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they caused a risk to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we analyzed was long-term care. This nursing home was given a very poor grade of F in that category. When nursing homes receive this kind of grade in this category it is a bad sign for patient care and it may indicate that the nursing home is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. After looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 92.22615 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which happens to be a bit below what we were hoping for but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
