We assessed the only nursing home in Ooltewah, Tennessee. We were relieved to discover that its only nursing home received an excellent overall grade of A-. For comparison's sake, we also looked at the facilities in the nearby city of Chatsworth. With Chatsworth receiving an awful city grade, we found the facility in Ooltewah to be in a totally different league than most of the nursing homes in Chatsworth. The best aspect of this nursing home's impressive profile was its inspection score. Inspection grades are discussed in the next section
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this city's sole nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher grades in this category typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. This place also really excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received a grade of A+. In the other categories we looked at, this place earned a B+ for nursing and a grade of C for long-term care.
