With 15,691 people, Eaton, Ohio is a small city. There are just 3 nursing homes in the city, which does not offer you too many options to choose from. The small number of nursing homes here received a city grade of C, which is not a great score at the city level. As bad as this city's grade is, we surprisingly found gave the nearby city of Fairfield an even worse grade. With Fairfield receiving a terrible grade, we would advise you to be very selective in either city. The best part of this place's profile was its nursing homes' stellar inspection reports. Inspection reports are discussed in the following paragraph.
Despite receiving a somewhat average overall grade, the nursing homes in Eaton performed remarkably well in our inspections category. In fact, some of its facilities received nearly perfect inspection reports this year. As a result, Eaton received one of our highest scores in that category with an A-. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite minor. Inspections appears to be this city's second best grade. We gave it a B- in this category. Lastly, the city earned grades of C and D for our short-term care and nursing areas respectively. Even with an otherwise decent profile, a nursing grade this poor may be a bad sign for levels of nurse staffing.
